What is Custodial Interference? Under Utah law this is when “during a period of time when another person is entitled to visitation of the child, the person takes, entices, conceals, detains, or withholds the child from the person entitled to visitation of the child with the intent to interfere with the visitation of the child.”
If someone is keeping your children from you during your parent time it can be a criminal crime ranging from a Class B misdemeanor to a 3rd Degree Felony in Utah. If your ex-spouse is keeping your children from your parent time without a court order you may consider contacting the local authorities to see if they may be breaking this law.
Not only is this a criminal problem but it could also hurt the ex-spouse if there is ever a custody modification applied for. The court does not like it when people disobey the court's orders.
